A black chunky negro man
broke into the house of Mr J. M.
Harris, last Sunday while the
family was at preaching and stole
his over-coat and two pairs of
pants. A little farther up the
road he broke into a negro house
and stole a suit of clothes. He
came on to Lancaster where he
spent Sunday night and left Monday
for Rock Hill. He gave his
name to parties along the road as
Dave Baker. Mr. Harris traced
him to this place yesterday. He
tried to sell the over-coat to seveaal
parties hera. Mr. Harris is
certain he is on the trail of the
negro. A negro woman hera
told Mr. Harris that the negro
left town with the pants in a sack
Monday.
