with corn, in late planting. Both

In his hook. "Scientific Agri.
culture," the Georgian, Dr. Pendleton,
professor of Agriculture
in the University at Athens, gives
a careful account of his experU
ments with cotton. These ex
tended over a long term of years, \
and convinced him that the prac- '
lice he at last adopted was the
wisest. For this practice he pleads
most eloquently, and without
fear of successful contradiction,

Hauling a Big Beam.
An Immense Piece of Iron Taken
to the State House.
One of the big iron beams
which is to find its final resting
place on the roof of ihe state
house as part of the dome was
gotten up to the yard today. This
immense piece of iron weigh*

the depot to the statehouse was
quite a job. Work began last night
at 11 o'clock but it was about 6

placed on two streetcar hand-cars

Rube Foster, the Negro who killed
