Thompson,? x-County Superintendent
of Education, which acaurred
at his home near Dteight, last
, Wednesday, after an illness nf '
more than a ye?r. Only Friday
of last week an operation was
performed on him for appendicitis*
and it wis hop^d h? mipht re
covar, hut it was otherwise He
creed.
Mr. Thompson was a ion of
Mr P Henry Th impson ? 1 his
count y, and was about 30 years
of itsje. In 1898 he was elected '
Countv Superintendent of Kducuturn
and served very acceptably.
His health failed him and he declined
to offer for re-election la*t
year. He was a pood map, a
member of Hopewell Meth diet j
church and will be missed in his j
section. He was married in 1896 i
to Miss Barbara Walters, daupht- I
er of Joshua Walters. His wife
and hree children survive him.
His remains were interred at
Sprinp Hill church Thursday after
funeral services conducted by his
pastor, Rev. Mr. Winn
