A Peculiar Accident.
Thursday afternoon last, the
14-year-old daughter of Mr. unci
Mrs. B N Craig, while playing
with aoree friends in some way
ran n .leedle iato the inner part of
the calf of the right leg. She had
stuck the needle in the heui of
her ak irt and it is believed that
while she was running it was
struck by her heel aed driven into
the breaking when it hud
penetrated about three-quartern
of an inch. The voting ladv hob
bled home, when Dr. Crawford
was called. II? made examination
and felt the needle, but when
tie had made a alight incision and
attempted to grasp it with his
pinchera, the muaclei contracted
at that momeat and the needle
disappeared. He attempted to
locate it again, lint tailed, and
calling in other physicians, they
also failed, although a considerable
incision was made. The young
ladv was suffering considerably
yesterday from the gash cut in
her flesh, but the needle was not
ajising her much trouhle.
This is Miss Craig's second experience
of the kind. Two years
igb she ran s needle into the hot
ton of on* of her feet, but that
ffHn removed. Ilowivir, she had
t ?ore foot for a long time.?Roek

Congressman Finley returned
from Washington last Wednesday

hut little also than exchanging

In a short conversation with tha

to say thai Senator Pillnian
had been badly misrepresented bv
the newspapers in regard to that
alleged trade about the Charleston
exposition appropriation. ''Why

am not ae apologist for anybody;
hut I am merely stating a tact, I

Whee it comes to workieg
for an appropriation or any other

Charleston as f r Edgefield and as
hard for Yorkville as for Charles
ton. The truth of the hnainess is
there is nothiag small or narrow
about Senator Tillma <. He is as
broad as the whole state."
Mr. Finiey talked iniereatingly
about various eaatters, and was
especially gratified that the
threatened extra session had heen
aveidod. He was sick in bed for a
week with his throat, just before
the adjournment,hut is now enjoying
good health again.
