were mnnv visitors in Columbia

part of those who wi'l be here
during the next few davs. Ever\
indication is that there will be a
larger croud in attendance than
ever before. The display of the
field crops will be larger than ever.
The horso cattle, sheep snd hogs
displav is right up to date This
display can hardl** be surpassed
by any other State, and it is
gratifying to see so much interest

Tim State is evidently making
great progress along these line>
The poultry exhibit is tspecial I y
large. There are all sorts, s17.es
and colors of chi? k? ns, turkey*,
geese, ducks and domestic fowls
There are well known exhibitors
from this State as well as from

been enlarged, vet it seems as
crowded with interesting exhibits
as it did when the tpiarters were
smaller. The hotels and boarding
houses are beginning to be up, and
by tomorrow they will be tilled

accident occurred nt Nixville,
several miles from here, yester
day morning about 5 /clock, at
the saw null of Mr K Long, when
Mr .loe Mixon and a son of Mr
Long were killed Very early in
i the morning Mr Mixon and young
Long tired up the engine and
went to sleep. Soon after the
boiler exploded, killing Mixon
instantly, blowing his head otF,
and fatally injured Long, who
died at 1 1 o'clock There were
no others near the mill at the
time of the explosion.
