one-third of the voters of any)
county an election shall bo held
whether there shall be such a
court or not. 28 counties are exenipt
from the bill.
There was a lively but good humored
debate over holding the
State ball in the State house. A
resolution was finally passed by
requiring a bond to be given for
injury to the hall in ease the ball
is held in the State house. This
was adopted, * J f? to oil.
The bill t.i require railroad
companies to sell round trip tickets
to passengers at reduced rates
was killed.
In the senate a bill was introduced
looking to the sale qf the
State farms.
The King's Daughters intro
duced a hill looking to the prevention
of the eiiiployinenl of
children under twelve years old in
factories and the appointment of
inspectors to report violations.
