Mrs S J carnes, widow of the
late John carnes, died a? her
home near Flint Ridge, on Sunday
last aftor a short illness.
She was about t>4 years of age

grown, surviving her. She was
a member of Hopewell Methodist
church. Her remains were inter
red at Tnbernncle on Monday.

Attempt to Kill Coastnhlo Connor
Last Thursday night, about one

Connor attempted to stop a bugg"
which two negroes were driving,
