FOOT BALL.
Clemson vs Davidson, at Rock
Hill, S. C., Saturday, October
14th.
The first hard fought game of
the season will he played on Saturday
of this week (Oct. 14th.) on
the Athletic grounds in Rock Hill,
S. C. Roth teams have been hard
at practice for about a month and
are in good shape. The game is
expected to be a close one and interesting
from start to finish.
Both Institutions expect their
players to play hard but clean
foot ball and it is intended that
the team that wins shall do so on
its morit. I^et all lovers of
straight, manly sjKjrt come out!
and see the game and if they wish
"root" for the side of their
choice. It will probably be the !
only game in the upper part of
South Carolina, and is rather an
experiment to seo if the people
will take enough interest in the
game to support it. Rock Hill is expected
to give a large crowd and
no doubt will uphold the reputation
she has made of giving loyal j
supfMirt to Athletic snorts in her i
midst Now let this town send a
good crowd over to see the game. (
There are many friends and Alumni
of both institutions in our midst
and they should see that they are
all there to help on their college.
The game will be called Saturday
afternoon about two or three
o'clock.
Both teams have other first class
teams to meet this season and this
game will give some idea of their
strength. Dividson meets the
University of North Carolina in
Charlotte on the following Saturday
(Oct. i21st.) on the same
grounds where their hard game
was fought last year. Clemson
is to meet South Carolina college
and also Sewannee of Tenrn dur
ing fair week in Columbia. Both
teems then are anxious to establish
a good reputation for hard clean
playing by this game and you be
sure that you are among the large
crowds that will go from all the
towns around.
Remember! Rock Hill Saturday
Oct. 14th. foot ball.
