son College, which occurred this
morning at 0.30 o'clock after a
short illness with that dreadful
disease appendicitis, Clemson Col
lege loses one of the most popular

connected with tho institution.
Prof. Dupre was in charge of
the horticulture department for
sev< ral years and liis work in this
!i < will !>e a lasting memory to
his name.
i Ie was horn at Pendleton and
was in his bl>th year. The remains
will he interred at Abbeville tomorrow
morning.
Warrant for Col. Neal.

Columbia, Aug. 2*3.?A warrant
against Col. Neal has been
swotn out and will likely he served
Monday.
The criminal charge is that ho
failed to turn over to his successor
money in his charge 30 days after
retiring from office.
This is a criminal oflense under
the statute.
A preliminary will he held here
where the trial will take place unless
a change of venue is asked
for. The warrant is signed by
Cunningham, chairman of the
board directors of the penitentiary.
