Ac'-iibMitall.v Killed liis ltrotlier. A very sad accident happened | at Mr Calvin Reeves', near Ker shaw, last Wednesday, resulting in the death of one of his sons, aged about If/years. One of the j boys was handling a pistol when , it was accidentally discharged,! the ball entering the back of IPs elder brother, penetrating the heart and killing him almost ir* is stantly. The i remains of the young man were buried at Fork 11 i 11 church Thurs- | day. ^ Cotton Seed Oil Mill The matter of organizing a cot- i ton seed oil mill and fertilizer company at this place was being discussed by some of our business men yesterday. It has not yet taken definite shape but it wiil, in all piobability, in a few days. Oil mill stock everywhere in the State pays from 10 to 20 per cent in annual dividends. We know of no small enterprise that will be of more benefit, to the town and county and that will give better returns on the investment. Nobody who has the money will have to lie begged to take stock. Death of Rev J no. Faile. On the 25th instant at 8:30 p m. Rev Jno Faile of Flat Creek quietly breathed his last in the presence of his immediate family and a few intimate friends, i While he had been confined to his bed only a very short time his death was .not unexpected as he had been in failing health for some time, '''he immediate cause of death was Bright's disease from which he had been suffering fori quite a while, lb; was born Dec. 1st 1822 and was therefore 771 years old. When quite a young man ho was married to Miss! Martha Kennington who now survives him. Nino children were born to them five of whom are} still living. Mr Faile entered the Confederate army in April 1 I and remained in active service throughout the war. Soon after the war he entered tho Baptist Ministry inni smir iin-n his 11iuo nils noon spenc in pointing sinners to Christ. His stvlc lias always been plain 1 and matter-of-fact yet under his preaching many sinners have been converted and under his super- \ vision several churches were organized, notably among the latter being old Laurel 1LII church which stood about a half mile from town and was the original Kershaw Baptist c hurch. His remains wore interred in the family burying ground near Charlesboro church on the 27 inst in the presence of several hundred relatives and friends. The j funeral services were conducted by Rev T A Dubney in a verv able and inprcssive manner.
