Verdict For $33,754.77.
State, Friday: "In the United
States district court yesterday,
there was a case for damages
brought up resulting in a verdic*
of $33,754.77 against the Carolina
Sulphuric Acid company, of
Blacksburg, anjl in favor of the
Durham, (N. C.) Fertilizer company.
Tho suit was brought to
recover damages from breach of
contract, in that tho acid works :

Durham Fertilizer company will
now jump the stockholders of the ,
Carolina Sulphuric Acid company, j
as individuals, for 5 per cunt, in
cash of the face value of the stock
held by each. The Carolina
Sulphuric Acid company, as such,
is insolvent; but many of the'
stockholders are <piito wealthy.
