e Denver, Col., Sept lo.?The j c
0 Republican State convention to jc
f day nominated a State ticket t
h headed by Henry R Woleott, of j t
>: Denver, a brother of the junior ti
e Senator from Colorado, for Gov- ji
ernor. The platform contains the a
- following: I
"The Republican party is ami e
has always been a bi metallic par- f
ty. The Republicans of Colorado u
are errnestly devoted to the cause *
. of bi-metallism. It has no sym- b
s pathy with mono metallism, and 1<
believes that the imposition of a n
a single standard upon the people of u
3 this country would work irrepar- n
- able injuries. Its members be- h
lieve that tho proper place for a \>
Republican bi-motallist is in the.'l
ranks of the party and not out of j f,
it. In tho future, as in the past, ' ti
1 Republicans who represent C? 1- ' r

Hasty Words.
We are told that we ought to
hink twice before we speak.
Sometimes we are advised if we
re feeling unkindly, to count ten
eforo we open our mouth. Vet
irtsty words oft times fly from
>ur lips, in the moment of exited
feeling, and before wo have
ime to think twice or count ten
he harm is done, the keen word
ins flashed like a dart into some
;entlo heart. These hasty words
.re spoken, too, tuod frequently
letween those who love each
ither. We control our speech
airly well when it is with Strang*
rs or ordinary acquaintances wo
re speaking; hut with those we
jvo best we are less careful. We
at our worry or our weariness i
lake us irritable, and then we
tter the hasty words which, five
linutcs afterward, we would give
11 we have to recall. Hut such
cords never can ho recalled,
hey may lie forgiven, for love
nrgivos till seventy times seven
lines; but the wounds, the scars,
emain.
