"The nurse confirms tlio doctor's word,
And adds' "She's like her l\r."
She sleeps and wake*, and wakes and sleeps,
An ! now and then she cries;
Bho doubles up her small pink li.-ts
And pokes them in her eyes.
She winks and blinks like some small owl?
I menu she looks quite wise,
As if she could tell wondrous things,
Out then she never tries.
I might go on and write a week,
And then could nut portray
One-half the little maiden's charm",
There is so much to say.
For all agree there never was soon,

A baby halt as wonderful

She brought no jewels rich and rare,

She hehl the precious chain of Love,
And wondrous chining baud.
She's twined her chain around our hearts
In such n loving war,
We can but choose her for our Queen,
And own her gentle away.
And if you sec the little Queen,
Ihure's nothing you can do
But wear that chain of Iwhy'love,
And be her subject too.
I have a thought within my heart?
I think the angel's brought her,
Because they thought no home complete
Without oiio little daughter.
A Curious Love^Story.
A very curious story is told by several

If lie left his foot marks would be ol serv

danger. At length the princess resolved
to carry him on her hack to a neighbor

however, that from the window of his
bed room the emperor saw the whole
affair.
In the assembly of his lords on the fob
