The correspondence between Got. Honhan and tbe Secretary of war, in relation to furlough ' ing members of the Legislature who are in the aimy, is published in the Journals of yesterday. The matter was referred by Secretaiy Seddon to Gen. Lee, who replies as follows: "In my opinion, it is better for the country that all per sons in the military service, elected either t? the Htnte Legislatures or Congress, should vacate their positions in the army. Holding the | two positions is ruinous to the service. 1 have had occasion to express my views on this sub ject to the Derailment before, and experience strengthens my opinion. Many brigades and I regiments will be lelt without commanders, il furloughs are granted to officers elected to legislative bodies, from which they can not be apai iui.
