We acknowledge the reception of Eighty
Dollar*, from Minn K. K. Cautlien, an tne con.
tribuiion of the ladies in the vicinity of Hanging
Hock, in aid of the proposition to furnish a
banner lor the ISth 8. C, Regiment. The
in oticy lias been sent to the proper direction.
The sum of two hundred dollars, the individual
contribution of a lady of this District, had been
previously forwarded to the same quarter.?
These are gratifying evidences of the patriotic
spirit of the ladies of lancaster.
The Federal prisoners confined at Salisbury
N. C. made an attempt to escape about two
o'clock on Friday last. They attempted to
aeixe the arms of the guard on duty within the
wails, and iu severnlcaacs succeeded. Having
disarmed a man, they thrust him through with
the bayonet. Two of our guard were killed
and several wounded. The parapet guard witnessing

beeu enrolled, but who ara liable to doty
beyond the limits of their Diatricla, to assemble
at the moat convenient points on
the line of railroad*, prepared to proceed at
once to Hamburg.
III. The troops will provide themselves
with haversacks and four days' rations,and
Mich supplies of clothing and cooking utensils
hi ure indispensable for their comfort
in tne field, without encumbering themselves
with such articles as are not absolutely
necessary. m
IV. Company odicers are authorized to
issue certificates for tranapertatiou of members
of their respective commands.
I V. I he persons liable to thin service are,
all persons between the ages of sixteen and
seventeen years, end all persona between
seventeen and fifty years of age who are
'exempt from Confederate service, but who>
are nsl exempt by the laws of this Slalo
from Stute service, which includes, amongaC
other classes, all bonded agriculturists who
have been exempted by Confederate authority
ni owner and manager of their own
plantations.
VI. Companies convenient to Hamburg
will r-eluct their owu means of transportation
to that point.
VII. The commanding ollicers of regiments,
and all general ollicers, uh well^ts
