We regret exceedingly to learn that Col.
Games, ol the 12th, S. 0. Itcgimeiit, was severely
wounded at the battle ol tMiaipsbuig. on
Wednesday the 17ill ult. We leant that lie
was shot in both knees?the ball passing
through one knee and lodging in the other;
and it was feared that ainpiiu ion of one or
both limbs would be necessary. Col Gaines
bus been tlnongli all of the late sanguinaiy
battles, and has won, with his gallant Keginiont,
(now teducid to a mere handlul) imperishable
honors. ilis loss to the service will be
