late William J. Connors, Kaq'r, of I ..-mensLor,
aged 28 years, 4 months and 20 days
This sad announcement will carry a pang
to mnny a heart, hut to none will its sting
be so keenly felt, ns experienced by him,
who bestows tl.is last tribute to the blessed
memory of her, who was his all in all. To
him, she was all a wife, could be?kind and
affectionate, she did every thing to promote
his comfort and happiness. She was proud
of his successes, and encouraged him by
her approving sinils and words of commendation?his
errors, in the goodness of her
heart she pardoned, and her gentle influence
hud ltd him to abandon vices, and nestle
more closely by her, seeking protection in
her kindly bosom. To her childrco, she
was the most devoted of mothers. Regardless
of self, intent only on doing them service,
early and lato alio was ministering to
their comfort. As a child, she was the
pride, tbs support and comfort of an aged
widowed Mother. llcr pride and her comfort,
for her filial duty was observed in a
jtiurit uf inMillitnMHii ntul l?v.?
lie who rules above, thought best to lake
unlo himself this wife, this muthcr, this
child. The loss is great, the sorrow* on.
bearable to a lone, heurt-brnken husband,
but she was too good for this world, and lie
in His wisdom has taken her unto another.
Dearest, beloved of women, she was not
afraid of death. To the last, she. retained
her entire senses. The day previous to her
demise, when n grieving husband stood beside
her, taking his hand, she said "I want
to live for your sake." Hut a few minute*
b. fore she breathed her last, she said to
him 44 Don't girc way," and when naked if
she were better, sho replied 44 cither better
or dying." Death to her, was cnae to bodily
sutfering ; it vvns bereft of its usual sting.
Mrs. Bailey united herself with the Kpi*
copal Church in 1*1", and has ev^r since
remained a consistent, pious member, though
deprived of her church services, llers,
however, vvns a devotional nature; wen in
her youthful days she exhibited by bur walk
and conversation the beauties of a religious,
christian mind. Her manifested acts of de.
rolioa and Godliness, ninrkod her Lu lifo ns
one of God's children, ?nd has ensured her
s place in the household of the great God
above.
On Wednesday, tho 2nd, a bereaved husband,
with a bleeding heart, laid her beside
her infant, who had experienced one week
of life?one in another world. Tho joy < f
his life, the pride and hope of his heart, has
gone, gone to God, and h it him, diseonsolute
and distressed, the guardian and protector
of litres infant children.
