CHARLESTON DAILY STANDARD. A Reliable Commercial and Political Journal. T?INOLK COPTKS, I'KU AXXI M # 8 00 Tkn . - " 60 00 The Daily Standard contains a daily telegraphic report, a Market Report, and a report Of Genera! luforntatiou furnished l>y the mail from every section of the Union. It also presents a diiily report of the Stock Market, tho Cotton Market, of the Arrivals and Dep.irturcs of Ships, and of tho arrivals of passengers. Once a week is presented a comparative statement of the receipts and shipments of Cotton, Rice and Lumber, at the port of Charleston, and a catnparative statement of the Receipts and Exports of Cotton at all the ports of the Uuited States, All news of a personal and polltioal character, both foreign and domestic, is given with tho greatest possible promptness; and to insure this object we have secured the sett ices of an able corps of correspondents. It is our special object to publish a NEWSPAPER, proper. We shrink from the expression of no opinion which may be demanded bv the subject before us, but as a general princip e prefer stating facts at the earliest irrsiant possible, artd to leave it to our readers to form l!x.*ir own opinions. The course of the paper is severely conservative first of morality and order; next, of the institutions peculiar to the South, and next of the uition of the States. We resolutely oppose r adicalism as well itt democracy as morals. One important object in tho establishment of on;- paper, was to present a cheap vehicle lor information. From tliis object we have been compelled to depart, to some extent; but not to leave it entirely out of view, we piopoec to sell the pnper at our oounter, in packages of TEN tor TWENTY-FIVE CUNTS, mid to MAIL TEX Copies to any one of our subscribers, for a year, who w ill sand us FIFTY DOLLAI18. This will relieve us from the risks of collection, and the expense of mailing so many different packages, while it will give to every neighborhood throughout the State, the oportunity of a daily paper at FIVE DOLLARS per annum.
