Tub Crystal Palace Exhibition.?
TJiw Now York Tribune says that owing
to the unfavorable state of the weather
on Wednaday, the number of visitors to
tho exhibition was not so large as might
otherwise have been expected. The nuin
bar of single tiekets sold was 2,281; the
cash taken w*s $1,150 25, and the admissions
on season tickets were 83-1.?
Tho sum of $37 61 was oontributcd to
the Washington monument.
In future tho directors have resolved to
admit no person bearing a bundle in'o
the Crystal Palace. Two ladies were,
on Wednsdav, observed to leave the
Palace each with a roll of silk in her possession.
On being questioned, they ta il
hat they had brought it in with them,
and although, after some inquiry, their
story was not proved false, to prevent afainst
possible robbery, no bundle, as wo

this good State of Tennessee, rather an j
eceentric gentleman, who occupied the |
Judge's seat, in one of the wealthiest cir- i
cuits of the State, Judge S , and 1 i
propose to give you a tew anecdotes illus- 1
trative of his character, although, I fear, (
as it is my first attempt, that I will kill
the story in the recital; however, that ,
will be my fault and not the fault of the

I didn't know it would come out of my

Now. sir, these all are true as preaching
and should they be acceptable, I will

sort," as this country nbounds in fellows
who arc fond of "fun and frolic," and who 1

his shoulder at the ram and quietly vociferated?

around and seeing one of his neighliors at
the bars looking at him, he added in the
same breath, "if I may be allowed the ex
