R Faulkner against the county of Edgefield for *(3,0u0. Mr. Faulkner was injured last November when the wagon up on which be was riding fell thro?gh the bridge across Turkey creek on the Blocker road He is represented by J. Wm. Thurmond,E-q., and the county by B E Nicholson, Esq., the county attorney. This is the last case on the civil calendar aud court will adjourn sine die when a verdict is reached in this case. Mrs Robbie Lyon is planning to have the apportionment of ladies mis sionary society by Christmas. Also plans are being thought of having some work done at the cemetery and church grounds and mayb- on ihe house before next year is out Tbe Aotioch school district voted on another mill tax last Saturday, not a vote being cast against the extra tax. That is good. Sunday afternoon there was a good congregation at Red Hill. After the Sunday school the Sun beams had a short exercise, which was. greatly enjoyed by alf. The pastor made a -hort talk, afterwards a collection wa.s taken. So be it known to all the Sunbeams bands in the Edgefield association that Red Hill band has met its apportion ment for another ye:ir. Aiso the ladies of Womans Missionary So ciety have eent ten dollars to Mr. Posey for a table to be used in bis school. The people of Red Hill are. justly proud of their new school building that is nearing completion. The building would do credit to a large town, being up to date in every respect. The trustees will have the house painted inside and out before it is ready for use. We have three teachers, Prof. Trulook of Sumter couotv is the principal. He is a graduate ol'Furman University.
