Death of Sweet Little Child.
On Tuesday .eveninjr April 27tb,

:?P. Bryan and carried away their
baby boy!' William Beauregard. A
shadow of tue darkest kind has been
cast over these two young people
who 'have been in our midst such a
short while. Every one had learned
to love the bright little" boy who
? had just stepped into his first little
boy dresses, for he always had a
lovely look and smile for every
one he met, and was known in so
many homes by all his pet names,
"Bill Bailey," "Big Boy" and
Brother. He would answer to any
of his loved names. The dear little
fellow was taken ill Tuesday morn
ing, April 27th, at 3 o'clock and
- died at 7 o'clock the same day. The
best medical aid seemed to be of
. no avail. Owing to the love that ex
isted between Mrs. Act? Penn Bry
an and Mesdames Lizzie. Millar and
.. Eliza Day, their sons, Bennie and
George Miller,?-Glare and Alfred
Day were chos?nf&!bear the sainted
little, body , toi Hts! Testing place at
Ebenezer. The-Rev. Royal Shan
nonhouse conducted the funeral ser
vices. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan have one
child left, Fred. This blow, so' sud
den, is hard for them, but as they
sorrow let them remember that He
- . doeth all ? things well, and so "give
in tears and pain this child they
most did love." (

Apply Whitewash Freely.
After giving your premises a
thorough spring cleaning use lime
and whitewash freely. It will not
only pay in preventing disease but
will add greatly to the appearance
of your premises. Furthermore,
when whitewash is properly made
and applied it will preserve the
fences and buildings. The following
is the formula adopted by the gov
ernment for making whitewash:
"Take one-half bushel of unslacked
lime, slack it with boiling water,
cover during the process, to keep in
the steam; strain the liquid through
a line sleeve or strainer and add a
peck of salt previously dissolved by
soaking in warm wailer, three pounds
of ground rice boiled to a thin paste
and stirred in while hot, one-half
bushei of Spanish whiting and one |
pound of clean glue; previously dis
solved by soaking in cold water and
then hang it over a slow fire in a
.small pot hung'in a larger one filled
with water. Add five gallons of hot
.water to the mixture; stir well and
let it stand a few days covered from
dirt. It shoul 11 be applied hot, for
which, purpose it can be kept in a
fettle or portable furnace. . The east
end of the White House at Wash
ington is embellished by this bril
liant white waih. It is used by the
government lo whitewash light
houses. A pint of this mixture,
properly applied, will cover one
square yard and will be almost as
serviceable as paint f or-wood, brick
or. stone and is much cheaper than
the cheapest paint. " )
