important mission as Clemson.
Reunion of Confederate Veterans.
It has been definitely decided
that the Confederate veterans of
the South Carolina division will
have a state reunion -this year.
Columbia came gracefully forward
and extended an invitation, which
: has already, been accepted. The
reunion will be held during the
month of May. Now, if the B3ne
iud daughters of veteran? and thf
.ons and daughters of those who
are not veterans, will stand &Bide,
these gallant men, whose ranks
are .rapidly thir.uiug, can come
together and rehearse their camp
fire experiences,, renew the-bondsj
of sympa hy, the ties of friend
ship and comradeship, associa
tions and memories that are well
nigh hallowed to them.
Some of tte former reunions
were"r pronounced failures, fell
short, of the purpose. for which
they were held, hecause teeming]
-hundreds of young peoplu would
make a frolic of the reunions ae
they would a carnival or some
"other gala occasion, overshadow
ing and crowding out the aged,

for all. of whom we have an
