Mr. George Johnston is finishing op bis new house and hopes to move into it in the early fall. Mr. H. H. Smith is "building a large and modern barn. Mr. J. H. Several of our young people met at the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. P. 0. Thurmond last Satur day afternoon and played croquet in their lovely grove, and refreshed themselves with luscious water melons. Mr. J. L. Crafton of this com munity beats the record hatching chickens. This season ha set one ben on fifteen eggs, and she hatch ed Bixteen chicks. The candidates for Solicitor have four other counties besides Edgsfield to cover and the meet ings in these counties take place practically at the same time that they are held in Edgefield. While I in no sense desire to neglect my home people, I feel that I must go to the Counties where I am prac tically unknown and in my hum ble way present my claims to the high and important office to which I aspire.
