to spend some time at the horne of
her daughters, Mesdames E. H.
Folk and S. A. Brunson. Mrs.
Speights' many frieuds iu Edge
field are glad to know that she has
fully recovered from her serious
illness of a few months ago.
According to an exchangp, the
man who went out to milk and sat
on a rock in the middle of the pas
ture and waited for the cow to back
up, was a brother to a man who
kept a store and wouldn't advertise
because he reasoned that the pur
chasing public would back up to
his place of business when it want
ed something.
What ought to be done with
boys who at"?end picnics and
other similar gatherings, and, on
the sly, raid the baskets in the
buggies before the hour for dinner
arrives? We have known of such
raida. Doubtless the good house
wives who were almost burned up
over the stove while preparing
these baskets would say these pet
ky young Americans ought to be
lynched.
