tion, are on the verge of a
second and it is quite proba
ble that a third will be neces

If we remember aright, on
divers occasions Evans charg
ed Latimer with dispensing
government seed and free
passes to advance his political
interests j now it is reported
that Evans expended a con
siderable sum of money in the
first primary to obtain votes
in Charleston. If this be true,

the town be covered? It now stands
open to receive whatever of garbage
and refuse matter that ignorant
and thoughtless persons choose to
throw in it. Recently some of our
citizens were eyewitnesses to some
things pertaining to the pollution
of the water that would havu been
