Those who shall retire from the bench unless the legislature shall see fit to reelect them are Chief Justice Mciver of the Stato suppreme court, and the86 circuit judes: Judgt Witherspoon of the Sixth circuit. Judge Benet of the First circuit, Judge. Buchanan of the Third circuit and Judge Watts of the Fourth circuit. Already there is much talk in political circles as to who will be candidates for these places on the bench, and it is noteworthy that all the circuit judges, save Judge Witherspoon, whoBO terms expire, are those who changed their places of residence in order to be eligible when the judiciary was reorganiz ed. So far as Chief Justice Mciver is concerned, noone is yet named j as a candidate to oppose him it is generally thought that he will be! reelected, juage 'mxrjerspio^n~aTiTiOTm'ceTtn^ some time ago that he will retire ' and would not stand for reelection. Mr. G. W. Gage of the Chester bar it is thought will succeed himself although Mr. D. E. Finley of York and ex-Solicitor J. E. McDonald of Winusboro. are mentioned as possile candidates. As to the othjr vacaucies, it is the general opinion that there will be several can didates soon annouced.
