Bailcy-Tillman?
There was a simple and beauti
ful marriage ceremony at Clark's
Kiil on Tuesday of last week. Miss
Sallie Tillman, the youngest
daughter of "Uncle" George, was
wedded to Mr. Thomas B. Pa ?ley.
"Uncle" George has been blessed
as only few men have been, with a
bright and happy family. He has
cause to be pr jud of any one of
his children. Several years ago
Lona, his eldest child and daugh
ter, was married to Dr. George A.
Bunch, one of the leading physi
cians of the county as well as one
of her most prosperous business
men. Then followed Sophia, who
married Osmund W. Buchanan, of
Winnsboro, one of the brightest
young lawyers of the State. Every
body is familiar with his brilliant
record as Attorney General, recent
ly elected Judge to succeed Judge
Fraser. He still has four chil
dren unmarried, three sons and
one daughter, Miss Fannie, a
very sweet and lovable woman.
Capta'n Jame? li. Tillman,
the eldest son, we are inclined to
believe is paying more attention to
his profession than he is to wo
men, and we ave sorry to say we
cannot hope to chronicle his mar
riage for some toc?me. Tho sec
ond son, lion Tillman, Jr., is now
attending school at the Citadel in cl
Charleston where he is taking al
most cr?ditai?!'' stand and holds
the highest office in his class. The
youngest son, George J)., Jr., is al
the Willisson High School, where
he took first honor in his class last
year and won the Demores! gold
medal for declamation, though he
was the youngest of the compet- 'I
itors. It is evident that all of
"l ucie" George's children have
inherited his intellect, for all of
them wear first honor medals won
at different schools, colleges, and
universities. Because of the new
home not being completed, the
marriage last week look place in
tho library, where the family have
lived since tIi?- old home was de
siroved by fire. Only ver}' near
relatives wer" present. The cre
nion v was performed by Ilev. J. J'.
Mealing. On Tuesday evening a
large reception was tendered the
bride and groom by Dr. and Mrs
Bunch. Mr. Bailey, the groom, is
a Georgian by birth and belongs to
sonv of the oldest and most dis
tinguished families of ;hat State.
May God bless the union and make
it a happy one. M.

Died Dec. 6th, LS'.) I. Mrs. Mary A
Webb in her SOtli year.
She has gone to be with Jesus,
And with angels pure and bright,
she ?s singing songs of praises
In thar, land of beaven ly height ;
But ?ve loved her, Oh so dearly.
And our courage well nigh failed us
As we dram the bitter cup.
She had snell a loving nature.
So unselfish, kind, and true.
Every one who knew her loved her.
She was so kind hearted,
With :i look so pure ?rid noble.
And a voice so soft and mild,
Hut we have not lost her,
She has only gone before.

Though thy spirit is m heaven,
