all its details. The Toners and the Booths
are two families who have lived since
our earliest recollection in tho country
immediately East of Tino House. Thc
Toneys arc people of means ; the Bootha
are poor. In lS(il?, in Ku Klux times,
lien Booth shot and killed young Luther
Toney. For ibis be was tried, convicted
of manslaughter, and served two or three
years in the penitentiary. Since thou a
vengeful fen 1 bas existed between the
two families, and ever and anon the
Booths have sought a difficulty willi the
Toneys. They came to- Edgelield on
Monday morning-live of them-with

Brooker Toney. And tho result is that
Brooker Toney, James Booth and
