This noble and heroic Christian woman
no more. The eldest daughter of the
Col. Nathan L. Griffin, of course she
as known throughout Edgefield.. And
herever she lived, there was she warm
gloved. All the friends of tier youth,
the people of her native District, all

fier unexampled courage 'and fortitude,

The Legislature.
The Legislature, which adjourned from
Wednesday, Nov. 27th, the day after its
meeting, until Monday the 2nd Dec, re
assembled on the last named day, and
listened to the parting Message of Gov.
Scott. On Tuesday, " at 2 P. M., the new
Governor was to be inaugurated. Until
next week, consequently, we shall not
be able to begin a record of the real work
of the General Assembly.
