Executive Board of the Edgefield
Association.
The regular meeting of the Board was hold at
GilgaL Church," on Saturday?Ttho 30th, of May.
There waa no special -business to transact, except
such as related to the Book Depo, ?tory, and the
Sunday Behool work, within the bounds of tho
Association.
This Board held its first incctin.r a: Gilgoi, in
Sept. 1856, and ti ~J? authorized th* establishment
of a Depository Vor Sunday School Books at Ege
field C. H. Tho increased interest in Sunday
Schools, which this instrunentalBy has promoted,
justifies tho wisdom of its organisation, and en
courages its friends to persevere in their labors.
About 2200 volamos of various "kinds of Sunday
Schc^BookSj.Bibles and Testaments have been
put in circulation since' Sept 1856.
The next meeting of th? Board will be held at
Edg'efield C. H., on Saturday before tho 5th Sab
bath in August.
Pursuant to a Resolution bf the Gilgal Churob,
calling on the diff?rent Sunday SeiooSs to confer
as to the propriety of forming a Sunday School
Union within the Bdgefield Association, repre
sents lives .were in attendance ?rom the following
Schools:
Bethlehem, Morgan School Hoosv, Big Stevens'
Creek, Hammondville/Mt. 'Lebanon, Science.Uill,
Republican, Horn's Creek, Edge Id J Village,
Mountain Creek, CbPahain's Mil s, Rehoboth,
Antioch, Gilgal, Bethany, Olive Branch, Bold
Spring and Buffalo.
The meering was organized" by* calling Rev.
JOHX Trupp to (ho Chair, and appointing Dr. J.
E. LBW?, Secretary.
After ful! discussion, the subject Was referred
to a Committee, to recommend som? definite plan.
On Sabbath morning the Committee submitted
the following Report, which was unanimously
adopted ;
REPORT.
The Committee appointed to consider tho pro
prlety of forming ? Sunday School Union for tho
Edgefield Association, beg leave to submit the

Wo beleive that such an organisation wcuid
stimulate tho zeal already manifested in tho
Sunday. School. work, and would consecrate to
tho cause of Christ the talents, of Brethren who
now remain idle for the want of a suitable field
of labor.
V\'e, therefore, recommend:
1st, That a meeting for organizing a Sunday
School Union be held, with tho consent of the
Association, ut Horn's Creek Church, on Friday
the Hth day of September..
2nd, That all the Sunday Schools within the
bounds of the Edgefield Association be invited
to send Delegates" to this meeting, with letters
containing, the full statistics of the Schools. *
3d, That a Committee ol C vc bo appointed to
prepare a Constitution and Hy Laws, to be sub
mitted for consideration at the meeting in Sep
tember. Respectfully submitted.
