ment. After reviewing the whole subject, ic

and is as applicable to New York and Mas

On Wednesday night, about 2 o'clock, as the
train on tbo Louisville and Nashville Kail
road was about fi fi miles from Franklin, Ky.,
tbe engiueer discovered that' the road was
barricaded. He immediately slackened ?peed,
but not until the en i ic, baggage car at d
express car were thrown from the track and
upset.
The passengers being aroused, found the
truin surrounded by guerillas, who fifed ono
?bot as a note of warning, which passed
through thc car without injuring any one.
