her up by the neck iu her own hou.-e, and left
her in the agonies of a'' violent death. She
v.-as afterwards cut down by her friends, but
life had long since been extinct. The gentle
tu0h who relates thh horrible, strange, foul
and unnatural murder is hew in this town,
and is an old citizen of Natchez, having ddited
at one time a weekly journal in that city. Be

down. If this terrible tale bc true-and wo
have no good reason to doubt it-the ven
geance, not only, of man, but of God, will fol
