Soiling.
Soiling, or feeding green food to stock, is little
practised at the South. Yet sonie have tried it
with success. The best plant we have for summer
soiling is our common Indian corn. We copy
some remarks upon it front the N. Y. 1aey ook'a
agricultural column. Every agricultural reader
should give the subject sonie attention. It will
be seen that the D"3i flook urges the use of green
Indian corn provender especially for inilch cows,
affording them fino food just at the time when the
grasses begin to wither. Every housekeeper, whii
keeps a cow and has a spare acre, half-acre, quar
ter-acre, or even less. should try it. Our fariners
should all try it. .iOwever full the siall grain
crop, we cainnit prioduce mire than enough stock
food ; and this kind, besides being good for green
feeling, is also excellent to cure and save for win
ter. Now is the time tie prepare for thi< extra
