C. DAWSON'S guano Depots, NO. 6, WARREN BLOCK, hIIERE is to be found in this establishment a Lgreater variety, and a larger stock of pure A genuine Natural, Mixed and Manipulated EERTILIZERS, than in any other South of Bal imnore, and the Planters of Georgia, South CUr ina and Alabama, arc requcested to call and ex Mino the stock before buying elsewhere-they ill do well to do so. The most satisfactory cerlificates from relinlle ?anters in Georgia and South Carolina, are dlaily oming in, testifying to the virtue of these Ma ures, and will be, after 1st of November, forward d in pamphlet form to any who may wish to see hem. The AMERICAN GUANO, notwithstanding the infavorable season, has won a reputation through mt Georgia, Alabama and South Carolinn, (where t his been extensively used,) that sets aside mll !avil as to its position among the best Fertilizers rot discovered. It Atands side by side with Peru ian. It is true there have been some failures-always #ill be-so therelhns been with Stable Manure and Peruvian, indeed, every kind this season, but that lies not prove that American G nno will not pity , large per ceutage. In almost every case, where ,here has been what is called a failure, it has been wing either to the manner in which it was ap. Plied, the cultivation or the quantity used. Some it it too far from tho seed-some lose half by the wind blowing it away-others by mixing it with table Manure, or by using not half enough to the Lore; but take it as it was used, by the inexperi need Planter. and so far as we have boon able to Learn the truth, in nine cases out of ten the Gu noed Cotton, Corn, Wheat, Onts, Barley, Bye, Turnips, and all Garden Vegetables, have yielded nearly twice as much as the unguanced land-so it pays even in the dryest seasons. You make but ittle this year-poor crops-but if you iad used no Fertilizer, you would have made next to noth ing. If the seasons had continued throughout July and August as they did up to the i5th of June, the old worn-out bills of Georgia and Caro ina would have groaned under the weight of the most overwhelming crops that were ever gathered. So don't be discouraged, but follow the example of the Dicksons, Thos. Whaley, T. J. Smith, of Han cock; Judge Roberts, of Warren ; Dr. Mims, T. G. Lamar, and the Rainsfords, of Edgefield, S. C.; who return annually to their land from $I to $ti worth of Fertilizers per acre, and your success will be like theirs, an overwhelming income for the money invested, to say nothing of the permanent improvement of your lands. Among the varieties I offor to the public are the following; AMERICAN, PERUVIAN, SWAN ISLAND, COLUMBIAN, MONK'S ISLAND CO LUMBIAN, MEXICAN GUANO, RUFFIN'S PHOSPIIO,(which isone-balPeruvian.) SANDS', HOYT'S, LONGETT SUPER.PHOSPHATES, and MANIPULATED GUANOS, BONE DUST and LAND PLASTER. All these Manures are pulverised and ready for immediate use. All orders will receive prompt attention. T IIIS ii one of the OLDEST Establishments (of the kind in the country-and they kstill maintain their supremacy in the market, having been awarded THIIRTY-EIGHT PRIZE MED ALS, over all competitors, for the superiority of their instruments exhibited at various Fairs in this country and Europe. They have bad an Agency in tb'is City for about thirty years, where thousands of their PIANOS have been sold to the ENTIRE SATISFACTION OF EVERY PURCHASER. And to protect their well-merited reputation as manufacturers, and the public from being imposed upon, it has become necessary to publish that every Piano made by them bears upon the "name board" " CHICKER ING, BOSTON," in the old English and Roman letters. andi upon the "sounding board" " CHICK ERING & SONS, BOSTON," with the number of the Piano. JACOB CHICKERING is not a relation of theirs, and has no business interest with them. I have the sole Agency for Augusta of Chick ering & Sons, and keep on hand a full assort ment of PIANOS for sale at Factory Prices. And WARRANT each one to give entire satis faction. I Call and see them, and their superiority will be so apparent that you will be sure not to buy of PEDLARS or TRAVELLING AGENTS. CHARLES CATLIN, Sole Agent. P. S.-I have a fine Stock of STODART PI ANOS, and of other good Makers. Also, GUI TARS, VIOLINS, ACCORDEONS, MUSIC, &c., &c., for sale low. All orders promptly attented to. C. CATLIN. Augusta, Feb 27 tf 8 FINE PIANOS, MUSIC, &c., &c. T HE subscriber, after returning thanks to their friends in Edgeflold and adjoining Districts, for their liberal patronage during the last ten years, would inform them that they still continue to keep on hand a large assortment of PIANO FORTES from the celebrated manufactories of Raven Bacon & Co., Hazelton Bros., and A. H. Gale & Co., New York, for whom they are sole Agents. These In struments having already won such far-famed ce lebrity, it is only necessary for us to repeat that for vtrength, durability and finish, together withpower, .depth, sweetneas and aoftness of tone, they challenge competition. Persons wanting a Superior Piano Forte, would do much better to call and select fro.a a large assortment, than by de2iag with Pedlars and agents of inferior makers, where they have no -hoice, and have often to pay higher prices for in ferior Instruments, than fine ones of superior makers can be bought for. Every Piano Forte sold by us is warranted in every respect, so the purchaser runs no risk what ever. Persons ordering from a distance from us can depend upon getting a GOOD ARTICLE, as ,re make it a point to keep goods of the best quality nd such as we can recommend and warrant in every respect. Their STOCK OF MUSIC is very large, and they are constantly receiving all new pieces as they are published. GUITAR and VIOLIN STRINGS if the the best quality always on hand. They would also call attention to their large stock of School and Miscellaneous Books, STATIONERY, BLANK OOES, and other articles. Also, always on hand the larg est assortment in the State, of GUITARS, ACCORDEONS, VIOLINS, FLUTES FLAGEOLETS, VIOLIN BOWS, 1c., and every articlo of Musi':al Merchandise. Carhart's and Needham's and Prince's celebrated M ELODEONS. Accordeons and Violins Repaired in the .,est manner. All of the above articles sold at low prices for 0.C1 or City acceptances by GEO. A. OATES & BROTHER, BROAD-ST., Augivata,. Ga., [Between United States and Globe Hotels.] April 7, 1859, if 13 Cotton Gins. W E desire to call the attention of Cotton Planters to an examination of the merits of the GINS manufactured by us, known as the T.AYLOR GIl\S.. These Gins undoubtedly combine the merits of SPEED, LIGH[T DRAUGHT and GOOD SAM. made. Our DOUBLE CYLINDER GiNl Is a recent invention, and in our estimation is decidedly superior to the common Gin. It picks with greater rapidity, and universally makes a good sample. The Gin requires good speed, and is best suited for wate~r or steam power, though with goodl gear four ninles will run a 60 Saw with ease. We make these Gins in size from 60 to 120 Sawsa. We refer parties desiring further information to Capt. A. J. HAMiMOND, Hamburg, S.C.; Cul. JNO. A. WIL LIA MS, Society lill, S. C.; Mr. A. A. SIMK INS, Silverton, S. C.; These gentlemen used the Double Cylinder Gins last sceson. We also refer to Mr. Il. M. PUSEY, Edist, Mills, S. C.; Mr. JAMES ROGERS, Mine Creek, S. C.; Mr. UENJ. Rt. 1,OSTWICK, Duck Branch. Who have our Single Cylinders in use. Agents.--Messrs. H1. & N. E. SOLOMON, Hamiburg; Messrs. C0THRAN, JEFFERS&00O., Charleston, S. C. CLEMIMONS, BROWN & CO.
