WOOLLAY & SON, NEAR GRANITEVILLE, S. C., RESPECTFULLY announce to the citizens of South Carolina.and the South at largs, that bey are now prepared to furnish H A T S [OF EVERY STYLE ANiD QUALITY, ks well made, of as good material, and on as req onable terms as can be found any where in the Jnited States. Col. Simkins, Editor of the Advertiser, a man of astc and good judgement, commend oar Hats in he following style: " Messrs. WOOLLAY & Sox, residing between Graniteville vllage and the Graniteville Depot, ave established a hat-making business which leserves honorable mentinn. They exhibit speci mens of their work at our late District Fair, which readily took a premium. Their hats of all kindsm commanded general admiration. Hav ing procured one for our own caput, we can speak adviedly upon the subject. Messrs. W0o I.AY'S lne dress hats are of superior quality; and, though very taking at sight, they decidedly im prove on acquaintance. The one we now wear is a capital hat, and we like it better and better every day. General McGOWAN, of Abbeville, wore off one from his last visit down this way, and we have no doubt he Is delighted with it. All who have tried them, like them. An experienced dealer in the article examined ours the other day, and, not knowing It was of Edgefield manufacture, frankly gave the opinioin that it was a first rate lit. This is the candid oxpression of one who trades with the best houses of New York. Messrs. WOOLLAY not only make fine hats but common ones,-not only men's hats but hoy's hats,-plantation hats and business hats,-yo4ng America's hats and Senators' bts. We wish thein pqch good luck in their business. They ought to be encouraged in their handsome and useful branch or manufac tures. Messrs. WOOLLAY, we had almost forgot to say, took the premium at the last State Fair, and we confidently predict that they will do so at the approaching Columbia Fair. Why I Because their work is good, and no mistake. Under the circum stances, should not Messrs. WOOLLAY be encour aged, especially by the people of Edgelleld among whom they have cast their lot I Stgrely they should. Sund down then to them at Graniteville; -send your measures and order your hats. Try them, merchants. Try them, planters. Try them, all of you. Their enterprizn is a good one.. Their work ic good. Their prices are fair. Their hats are bol fine aind pomfortable. Try them once, and we venture'to ?ay yon will pry thei again." L.
