WOOLLAY TOWN HATS!
Messrs. WOOLLAY & SON,
NEAR GRANITEVILLE, S. C.,
R ESPECTFULLY announce to the citizens of
South Carolina and the South at large, thrt
they ate now prepared to furnish
HATS
OF EVERY STYLE AND QUALITY,
As well made, of as good material, and on as rea
sonable terms as can be found any where In the
United Ftates.
Col. Simkins, Editor of the Adrc-iser, a man of
taste and good judgement, commend our Hats in
the following style:
" Messrs. WOOLLAY & Sox. residing between
Graniteville vllage and the Graniteville Depot,
have established a hat-making business which
deserves honorable mention. They exhibit speci
mens of their work at our late District Fair,
which readily took a premium. Their hats of
all kinds commanded general admiration. Hav
ini procured one for our own caput, we can s)eak
advisedly upon the subject. Messrs. WooLLAY's
fine dress hats are of superior quality; and,
though very taking at sight, they decidedly im
prove on acquaintance. The one we now wear is
a capital hat, and we like it better and better every
day. General M c-lowAN, of Abbeville, wore oil
one from his last, visit down this wily, and we have
no doubt he is delighted with it. All who have
tried them, like them. An experienced dealer in
the article examined ours the other day,. ai.d, not
knowing it was of Edgefield manutfactiare, frankly
gave the opini-n that it was a first rate lat. This
is the candi I expression of one wh6 trades with
the best houses of New York. Messrs. WoOLLAY
not only make flue hats but common ones,-not
only men's hats but. boy's hats,-plantation hats
and business hiats,-young Aitmerica's hats and
Senators' hats. We wish then inuch good luck
in their businievs. They ought t.. lbe encourng< d
in their handsome and useful branche ot mnanufne
tures. Messrs. WooLLrAY, we had atlmost'frgeot to
say, took the premium~ at the lnst .et te Fatir, and
we confidently predict, that th',y will do so at the
apjroaching Colunmbia Fair. W by 1 Because their
work is good, and no mistake. tinrder the circutm
stances, should not, Messrs. WooLIt.A Y be encour
aged, espee'ally by the people or Edgetleld amiong
whorn they have cast their lot? Surely they
should. Send dowin thien to themi at Graniteville;
-send your measures and order your hats. Try
thin, merchants. Try :them, l.,nters Try thqm,
all of you. Their enterprize is a good one. Their
work is good. Their prices arc fair. Their hats
are both fine and comfortable. Try themu once,
and we venture to say yote will try themn aglit.'
