sumed on MONDAY the 23d of February.
We take great pleasure in announcing to the
public that we have engaged Mr. C. D. OLIVER,
to take charae of this Academy. Mr. 0. is a
graduate of the Citadel Academy, in Charleston,
and Gen. JAmBs Joss, Chairman of the Board of
Visitors, in a letter to us, recommends him as be
ing eminently qualified as a Teacher, and a young
gentleman of unexceptionable character.
Our desian in employing a teacher of such rare
qualifications is to establish a first class Academy,
in which parents may be enabled to give their
sons a good substantial business education, or have
them prepared to enter the State Military Acade
my. Mr. 0. will teach all the braihes that are
taught in that Institution, a list of which will be
published soon, together with the Rates of Tuition.
The above Academy is situated 25 miles North
east of Edgefleld C. H., and it, six miles of Chapel
Station, on the Greenville & Columbia Rail Road,
and it is certainly one of the most healthy loca
tions in the State.
