S UPARTED this Ilife,on tae 3d'Fbruar last, aties
residence; in this District, Mr. RUFUS HOLLY, son
of ALFRED and ELIZAETU HoLL, in tho 32d year
of his age. . -
The deceased was a kind and an affectionate hus
band; a fond and devoted father; an iniulgent and
good master, and a firm friend. Although he never
united himself to any Church, yet the writer of this
has hopes of his acceptance with his blessed Re
deemner. A FaIxca.
DIzz, on the 15th February, at the residence of
her grand-father, MARY VIRGINIA CHEATHAM,
daughter of RoBEaR and AXx CREATUAV, aged five
years and eight weeks.
The deceased child with her living sister, having
lost her mother when only three weeks old, continued
to reside with her grand-parents, at whose place shi
was born, and by whom she was watched over with
much parental care and- affection. She had just ar
rived at that age when children are most interesting
to all around them, when death claimed her as its
prey. To her surviving parent and grand parents,
it is a sad bereavement, but weep not dear friends, for
Her spirit is flown
In peace to God's throne,
To praise our Saviour, and know as she's known.
She sings now above,
Made perfect in love,
And never, 0 never, she thence shall remove.
She rests now in peace,
Beholds the Lord's face,
Thrice happy, so early to finish her race.

DraE, in this District, on the 10th day of February
last, of Dropsy of the Chest, Mr. ROBERT G. GUR
FIN, in the 40th year of his age.
The deceased became a member of the Baptist
Church at Bethany, in 1841, and lived as such up to
the time of his death. He bore his severe affliction
with uncommon patience and fortitude. His conver
sation during the latter part of his illness evinced to
those who visited him, that change of heart which
gives assurance of his entrance into the rest of God's
elect.
He has left an afflicted and affectionate companion,
three sisters and numerous relations and friends to t
mourn his demise. A FaRiEa.
DIED, in Augusta, Ga., on Thursday, the 26th inst., c
of Measles, Mrs. MARY A. E. THURMOND, wife of
BENJAXIN TRURxoD, and daughter of Mrs. ANN
BussaY, of this District, aged 23 years. 2 months and
19 days. She had lived a pious member of Red Hill
Baptist Church for a number of years. and in her
last illness placed her confidence in the finished work
of her blessed Saviour, and left the most gratifying
consolation with her weeping friends and relatives
that she has gone to rest with her crucified Redeemer.
She leaves a disconsolato husband, one small child, t
a fond mother, brothers and sisters, and a large circle
of other relatives and friends to deplore their loss.

Worms ! Worms !-A great many learned
treatises have been written, explaning the origin of, r
and classifying the worms generated in the human
system. Scarcely any topic of medical science has
elicited more acute observation and profound research; tl
and yet physicians are very much divided in opinion
on the subject. It must be admitted, however, that, S
after all, a mode of expelling these worms, and pur- a
fvin g the body fronm their presence, is of more value
than the wisest diiquisitions as to the origin. The
expelling agent has at length been found-DR. Mc
LANE'S VERMIFUGE, prepared by Fleming Bros.
is the much sought after specific, and hats already su
perseded all other worm 3eidicines, its efficacy being
universally acknowledged by medical practitioners.
