mnets-Academie, Collegiate and Theolugical.
Academic Department.
In this Department are taught : Orthography and
Rhetorical Itending; Geography and History ; Pen
manship: English Granmar and Coamposition
Arithmetic and lo.,k-Keeping; the Elements (
Algebra and Geometry ; and the Latin and Creel
Languages.
The prime object of this Departnt-ut, besidei
preparing Students for the Collegiate Departmen
when a full course is contemplated, is to make got
English scholarp. The Latin and Greek are tauglr
as an itnsta usatent of mental culture, but mnore par
tieularly as a necessary iueanse or obtaining a
thorough acquaintance with the Eniglisl lanagunge
None of the studies of this Department will be
dispetisel with, unless the parent or guareian par
t;eularly requests the omission of the Ancient Lan
guages.
Collegiate Department.
In this Department are instituted six Schools
to wit:

In this Department are instituted three Schools,

The duties of these Departments are for the pres
ent devolved upon four Professors and one A ssils
tant, with the expectation that othlr Professors will
be shortly added.
The new Term will open the First Wedinesday
in February ncxt, 1853. The Vacation will cmn
ilence hereafter in the midlle of November and
terminate on the first Wedaesdayiv in February.
Tuition, $42 per annum, payable semsi-auually
in advance.

fully acknowledge the liberal patronage they
have enjoyed for the past year. They exceedingly
regret that the iniconvuieneo of their Reoms has
hitherto nfflurded them no opportunity for a public
exilination of their Scholars. It is with pleasure,
however, they- announco the speedy erection of a
I large and convenient building. A suitable lot has
already been procured and arrangements are in pro
gress for the imniediate commencement of the
building which will be hastened to completion.
The School will then be fornished with all the ne
