The School was opened on the 18th of Sep.%

A tine apparatus; a large collection of: Maps;

classes.
The Assistants are experiencel in their difle

The A eademical year is divilel into Sessions
of 1.1 weeks eich. It is of great inportanlce
that the stndent be present at the coninence

MUMOL DPARTET
The Department of Music is under the super
vision of one (of the most aceurate and aecoin
plishted teachers in the State; and it is believed
that unusual facilities are aflordeol flor acquiring
a thorougli knowledge of this difficult science.
In addition to regular private lessons, the pupils
in this department are diviled into classes, and
taught on the plan of Pestalarri.
They devote much titme to exercises, adapted
to train the ear. and the voice, and to impart an
easy and brilliant execution.
if they pursue tihe prescribed course of muisi
ca1 instruction, they acquire the art of reading
austie with faicility.
Thyare reqluiredl to be regular and systemat
ie in practising daily at the Institute.
The training and cnltivation of the voice.
receive an utnusual degree of attention. The~
science of Elocution is here appliied, itn develop
ing the voice for singing, with great effeet.
The lutstitut'on has beeni abnost weekly visited
hy a large number of the ladies anud gentlemean
of' our village, who have invariably expressed
the highest degree of satisfactiotn, at what they
have heard and seen of thc proficiency oaf the
Pupils andl the atrrangenment of the Institute.
A nda the Trrustee~s have only to add in conuclu
sian, that while in their opiniaan, the're are many
institutions of learninag deservedly popular in our
