Election Notice. TN Pursuance of Writs of Election issued from the Office of the Court of General Bessions and Common Pleas, by Thomas G. Bacon, Esq., by directi. n of an Act of the General Assembly, the Managers of Election, for Edgefield District, are hereby directed to uttend at the several places of Election, for which they are Managers, on the Secoid Monday of January next. open the Polls and hold an Election for CLERK, ORDINARY and SHERIFF, for Edgefield District, to fill the vacancy which will occur in said Offices, by the expiration of the term of the presei.t incumbents. It will be their duty to attend as directed, nnd open the Polls between the same hours and in other respects conduct the Election, in the same manner as is prescribed for the Election of Members of either branch of the Legislature (except that the Polls must be opened on Monday only.) Also, to meet on Wednesday after the votes ate received at the Court H-ouse of Edgefield District, count the votes, declare the Election, if no notice of intention to contest it be giveu, and certify to the Governor the names of the persons who may be duly elected.
