Wvsos, (Penr.) January 22d 1851.
Ma. Lrwas,-The Patent Straw Cutter which
you invented, and are now offering to the public,
is a most excellent article and deserves public
favor. Two years since I purebased one and
bave had it in constant use-it has never been
out of repair in any respect, answering all the
purposes you recommend it for. I most cheer
fully commend it to farmers in all sections, and
could n'ot be induced to part withithe one I have,
without the prospect of obtaining another, fur
ive times it coset.
Respectfully, V. E. PIOLLET.
AcoUS-rA, (Ga.) Sept 16, 1801.
"Mi. Tj.rs.--Der Sir: bomo time sinctoT
used one of your Straw Cutters to cut roots for
my preparationm of Georgia Sarsaparilla. Some
of the roots wvere very hardi and tough-! ami
happy to say your Straw Cutter hlms far exe~eeded
my expectations. The public need not fear of
its getting out'if order by cutting straw or foid
dr or by accidentally getting hard substances
in it. Yours, respectfully,
J. DENNIS.
EDGE.FIELO C. H-, Sept, 10, 1851.
Ma. Wur. Lrwrs,-Sir: In your letter you
ask how I like the Straw Cutter I bought from ;
you. I say it excels any thing of the kind I
have ever seen, and I coiuld niot be induced to
part with it, without the prospect of getting
another, for any eemmon consideration.
W31. P. BUTLER.
E bCnEFI tu C. H., Sept. 18, 18.51.
DEAR SIR : I have been using one of your
Stratw Cutters for somne three or four months
and an, satisfied that its advantages over all
others, are sueh that it will recommend itself to
every observer. Its adaptedness to cutting all
kinds of grain, in aniy desirable length, its security
to the operator, the miinimum of powt~et required
to keep it ini operation, the dispatch with which
it executes its wor'k, combined with its simplicity
and durability, must make it invaluable to every
one that may have use for themn.

S8 TUISA zA33.
Rev. Chas, A. Raymond, Principal.
T HE FIRST SESSION commenoes Septem
ber 18th.
The Institute building will contain eight
Rooms, all of which are appropriated to purpo
ses of instruction.
A fine apparatus; a large collection of Maps;
Anatomical Charts, Globes, &c; a Museum of
Natural History; a Cabinet of Minerals and
Shells ; furnish unusual facilities for. acquiring a
practical knowledge of the different branches of
Science.
Two new Pianos have been purehased in ad

The course of Study is of an elevated charac
ter, and more comprehensive, than that of most
female institutions of the highest reputation.
The PRIXCIPAL devotes the whc-le of his time
to the supervision and instruction of the various
classes.
The Assistants are experienced in their diffe
rent Departments, and those only of known suc
cess in teaching are employed.
The Academical year is divided into Sessions
of 14 weeks each. Itis of great importance that
the student be present at the commencement of

a few weeks delay may afect the standing of the
pupil throughout the year.
Tuition is charged but from the time of en
trance to the end of the Session.
Payments are to be made at the close of each
Session.
Uunusual facilities are given for a thoroh
Musical Education.

of studies and other particulars, will be sent free
of postage, to those who apply for them.
