nHAMBURG, April 15.
Mr. Editor .-The last two weeks have bec
quiet ones go far as business goes. Last weel
we had a small edition of Noah's flood no grea
damage done, except destroying gardens, wash
ing down fences, &c. No Goods were lost,
believe.
Our Commission and other Merchants com
plain of the great difficulty of getting Goods ofl
destined for the up-country. The quantity C
Goods seeking conveyance is very great, and on
country friends can obtain loading to wherevel
they desire it.
Our cotton narket is quiet, under the influ
enee of a decline of 4 cent in New York.

COLUMBIA, April 15.
The demand for Cotton was less active to-day,
and when business closed in the evening it was
ascertained that prices bad lost 4 of what they
had gained on Friday and Saturday ; Fair Cotton
settling down at 11 cents.-Telegraph.
CHARLESTON, April 14
Our cotton market is unsettled and prices are
irregular, but decidedly more in favor of buyers
Sales 950 bales, at 91 a 124--the bulk of the
sales (600 bales) at 10j a 114.-Carolinian.

and over the State of South Carolina.
Whereas, information has been received at
this Department that JACKSON VAIGNEAI,
charged with the commission of an atrocious mur
der, las escaped from jail at Gillisonville, in the
State aforesaid: Now, therefore, in order that
the said Jackson Vaignem may be brought to
trial, I, JOHN II. ME ANS, Governor of the
State of South Carolina, do hereby offier a re
ward of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for the
apprehension and delivery of the said Tackson
Vaignem to the Sheriff of Beaufort District or
into any jail in this State.
The said Vaignemin is about five feet nine in
cies high. black eyes, hair and beard ; dark
complexion ; about twenty-threc years of age,
and has the end of his right fore-finger cut off
about the middle of the nail.
Given under my hand and seal of the State, at
Charleston. the tenth day of April, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
fifty-one, and in the seventy iiftl year of the
Sovereignty and Independence of the United
States of A merica.
