tains a full account of the murder of three
American traders. citizens of Rio Grande
City, Messrs. Itrowen, Campbell and
Voi tlhington. who were shot by 3Mexican
troops. on the 20th January, on the road
lealing to Mlonterey.
The territorial qoestint still nagitatcs

been held at Roma and Rio Grande Cay.
in which resolutions in favor of a separate
government were passed by overwheiniig
mliajorities. One of those atupted at the
Roma tmeeting is as follows:
Resolved ,'That it is the interest and the
right of the people in the territory between
the Nueces and the Rio Grande and below
the line of New Mexico to he organized as
a Territory of the United States, separate
atd apart from the State of Texas. and
that the Government of the United States
te called on to extend over us, as soon as
possible, a Territorial Government.
