"THE DISPATCH," December 31st says : AN INVALUABLE MEDICINE.--We have frequently heard the Celebrated German Bitters, manufactured by Dr. Hoofland, spoken of in terms of commendation, and we know deservedly so. It is a too common practice, in certain gnuaters, to puff all manner of useless trash, but in the case of the above Bitters,'hun adrede nre living witnesses of their great mural and physical worth. As a medicine for the Liver Complaitit, Janndice, Nervous Debility and Dyspepsia, it lies been founi invaluable, effecting cures and thoronghly eradicating dis eases. when all other medicires have failed. We fell convinced, that in the use of the Ger man Bitters, the patient does not become debil itated, but constantly gains strength and vigor to the frnne-a fact worthy of gcat considera tion. The Bitters are pleasant in taste and smell,-and can be udministered tinder any cir-' cunstances, to the most delicate stomach. In deed, they can he used by all persons with the most perfect safety. It would be well for those wheare much affected in the vervous system, to commence with one teaspoonful or less. and gradually increase. We speak from experi ence, aid are of course, a proper judge. The press far and wide, have united in recommend ing the Gerriman Bitters, and to the afflicted we most cordially advise their :se. "SPIRIT OF THE TIMES," June 24th says : "DO OUR GOOD CITIZENS who are inval:ds, know the many astonishing cures that have peen performed by Dr. Hoofland's Cele brated German Bitters? If they do not, we recommend them to the " German Medicine Store," all who are afflicted with Liver Com plaint, Jaundice, Dyspepsia. or Nervoas Debil ity, the Doctor has cored many of our citizens after the best physicians had failed. Where this Plaster Is App~Jed, A PAIN CNNOT EXIST. . A gentleman in the .South of Europe and Pales' ime, in 1830, heard so much said in the latter plhce in flivorofJEW DAVID'S.PLAS TElR, and of the (as he considered) oiiracylous cures lie had performed, that he was indeced to try it on his own: person, for a Lung and Liver Affection, the removal of which liadjieen the chief object of his journey, but -whjlhhad resisted the genial and delicious elitig. . He accordingly applied a plaster on the tia$ of his chest where the pain Was seatedinothef between the shoulders, and oneoyer the regioi of the liver. In the mean time he drank freely of an herb tea of laxative qualities. He' soon found his health improving, and in a few week/ his cough left him: the sallowness of his skir disappeared, his pain was removed, and hi health became permanently reiterated. The following is from Mr. Worstel,. ediot of the Mnssilliorr Gazette, Ohio. . Gentemen-During last winter and spring, I was so troubled. with a pain in breast as to render me unfit for the duties of my office: and hearing yonr JEW DAVID'S or HE BREWV PLASTER highly recommended for similar cases, I was induced to give it a trial; I had worn a plaster upon my breast but a-short time, when all prns left me, and I was enabled again to engage in the labors of the office. I woild also state, that my sister, residittg in Steubenville in thri State, has received much benefit from its use.. Yours, truly,- J. P. WORSTELL" Maallon, Nov. 12, 1843.
