T1E ART OF MAKiNo DiPPEn CAN pLI.-The itallow. when melted. should be ladled into a n ooden vessel of conveni -eat width and depth, which has been pre viously heated by filling it tiih boiling wa ter for au hour or more. Fill the vessel within an inch of the top with melted tal low, and keep it at that height by addiog ha tallow or hot water. By this. means the candles will be kept of a full size at the top. and not taper off to a point, as is often seen with country candles. The tail: low, when used for dipping cabilles, should not be too hot. A temaperattire that will allow the finger to be dipped in without burning, is'sutbcicently. hot, and at this temperature the candles will take on the tallow very fast. The wicks should be owered into'the melted tallow gradually, ad should he lified out of the tallow i lowly that when the bottoms of the can les are clear from the surfice of the mel I tallow, no tallow will run (I them. hlet the candles are raised quiick out of e inelted tallow, the mallow will ron oi to candles in a stream, whereas if the - udIes are raised sl.owiy, not a particle oif lloiv will fall from the candles. A few itis will satisfy any person in this mater. 4 the -tilow is hoiling hot, the n ick will tt take on the tallow to any considerable stent. When candles are raised out of te tallow rapidly, the candles will be irge at the bottom. and the tallow will Ktend below the wirk, so that when burnt i a candlestick a piece if the candle will ate no wick in it; nod therefore. for bor ing, n ill be useless.
