DR.'JOEL BRANHAM'S
LIVER 4 DSPECTIC
MIED I CIN E,
IN offering this valnable Medicine to the peo
ple of S. Carolina fr the relief and care of
many diseases incident to a Sonthern climnte,
I do not claim for it infallibility; neither do I
say it will cure all diseases. But in
CHRONIC LIVER AFFECTIONS
AND DYSPEPSIA.
I can confidently advise and recommend its
use, from my personal observation and use or
the article in my own practice. This article is
favorably received wherever it has been used.
I ai allowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of
Troup, Mr. John Warren of Colnmbus. Mr.
McAfree of Cobb, Mr. Asbuiry Hull of Athens,
Mr. William 1). Terrell of Putnam, Rev'd.
John E. Dawson of Lagrange; to which a
great number of names might be added, who
bear their testimony to its value.
Habitual costiveness is found very frequently
connected with feeble constitntions, and per
sons of sedentary habits, which often exert a
very unfavorable itfluence upon the general
haelth of the subject; and is particularly mnni
-eeted-byli restless and desponding state of the
mind, irregular if not a loss of appetite. For
this condition of the system, this article is confi
dently recommended with the positive assur
ance that if the dose is properly adjusted. so as
not to move the bowels too actively, relief may
he relied on, without any, even the least of the
unpleasant consequences, resulting from the
use of the common purging medicines usnally
resorted to. This artice will be found to act
as a plensant cordial and tonic, restoring the
appetite, and at the same time fulfilling every
indication that the common purging medicines
are designed to effect.
'Therm are some constitutions liable to regu
lar attacks of Bilious fevcr almost every fall,
to such, I recommend the use of this'Mediine,
beginning at least by the middle of May, oiffiM
ufJune.
Many' persons whose Digest. orii iis"iie
feeble, often- experience ir-sense O-rtlnk.
weight, and oppression, aboutt the stomach rif
ter eating-in snch cases a dose of this medi
cine will ollen afford immediate relief.
Pregnant women often suffer from heart
burn and costiveness, they may use the article
without the least danger aiid wvith great beniefit,
In sick or nervous head-ache, it is a most valin
able meulicine
I could append a long list of certificates, but
forbear, preferrinrg to rely on the virtnes of the
tiidicine to sustaim itself. The medicine is a
gentle and certain enthartic. tonic and sndorific.

Bf-ltimore, December 16th, 184:1.
Dr. G. K. Tyrixa.-Dear Sir.-It is with
great pleasure that I announice to you a perfect
restoration of my hecalsh by the use of your in
veinable pills. I fiad been suffering from
ChilIs and Fevers for eighteen or twenty months.
during wvhich time I took five bottres of Row
nnd's Tonic Mixtuire, Dr. Sherman's Fever and
Agiie Lozenges, Dr. Love's Vegretable Elixir,
Keener's Powders, Barks, Quiinine, Thomnpso.
nia Medicines, Arsenic, Herbs, and in fact
almost all thme popular remnedies I could hear of;
and yet received no lasting benefit. The chill~s
were stopped by Qninine and other things, but
afier a few days or weeks they would return
again, as had or wvorse than before Towards
ihe last the chills caime only every third day,
and thsue were followed by fever of such se
verity as to affect my reason and it wvas found
necessary for some one to watch with me nn
til the paroxysm passed off. A t last I procured
a box of your pills, and only look four of them ;
this so completely stopped the chills, that I
have never had a return of them lip to this
time, (nearly two years) and near a year of
this time was passed in the same place where I
first caught the disease.
That my case is not one cured by chance is
proven from the fact that foist pills out of the
same box cured Capt. Reuben Banks, so ef
fectually that he hias ncverhiadl thme disease since,
whereas before he often suffered from it. Two
other person were also cured by the contents of
this saume box, anid they neither of themi have
had a return of it althotugh they both reside
where they-are exposed every season.
I know several others who have heen cured
by your pills, but it is unnecessary to detail
their cases. The best certificates of their ellic-i
ency im Chills and Fever, will be a few doses,
andI if they arei as beneficial to others as they
have been to ime they may be truly called a pub
lic blessing.
lam wvithi much respect your obee't serv't.
