Being called to visit a pa. tietnt a few days sinice, I found lie was vomit- 4 ing and purging most violently, with severe 1 Tormina and Cramps ini the mupper amid lowera extemities, atnd also in the ab'dominial parieties. fI Thme Cramap was so violent, that it took fcotr meni to rub him incessantly, to kcep doiwn the spasm, and to use his own words, he said it seemed to hint as if his bones would snap ini two, There were also violent cholic pains aroud the ubllical region, at-ended with very distressing naasen, im short, I considered it to be a case of genuineo cholera. I fou nd on engnti ry. the patient had beent unwell the day pre vions, with a looseness of the bowels. That I six hours bet ore I saw him, he was seized with[ the comnplaitnt, and had gradually got worse. The extremities were cold, and lie was nearly pulseless. I immediately gave him a spoonful of the Balsam, which in a lew moments was ej ecteid from the stoimach, but on giving it a few times, the stomach became settled, and lie expressed himselfmtoch relieved. I thean gave buim a cafomel and opium powder. In two ours from theO time I saw him heo felt qttite easy, and fell asleep, and slept well for five ours; bttt on wvaking, the symptoms againa re turned. I directed more of the Balsam to be given him, whent lie dis,-ase subsided. and the patient was convalescent. It took 'only one I ottle to mffect a cure.
