Wre give a brief statement of an insurec
tion that had taken piace at Trinidad, Cuba.
The Boston papers contain some further
particulars. We copy the fotllwing from
the Boston Daily Adv.
By time Brig Adeliade, Captain Macloon,
at this port. on Saturday from Trinidad,
we learn that on the 5tth January a part of
the negroes of 1)on Juan do Armentcro's
estate rose, killed their biaek driver. and
wounded a white man, They then procee
ded to the woods, where they were joined
by a number as "numn rous," (runawav
slaves, outlawed.) aid the fullowitg night
made an attack on the plumnation of Dont
liedro Sanchez, where they killed two
but were repulsed and driven back into the
bushes.
Next day n party of troops from the
town of Trinidad and a considerable num
ber of mounted men with dogs went it pur
suit. They ascertained that the number of
maranders was 60 and 70. They took
several of the ringlenders, who were shoit,
and some of the runaways gave them
selves up. It was then thoulght there woid
ie no futher trouble. But on the night of
the 13th. having probably received :a reit
f'rcement fron the mountainms,they attacked
the plantation of Mr. J. Baker fortmetly of
Philadelphia.
Mr. 13. had on hiis plantation upwnrls of

W IEI RE AS, infoamation has been re
ceived at this Department, that lMa
McCoy did, about two years ago, feloni
ously steal, take, and carry away a Negro
man slave, the property ofT. L. KENisEDr,
of Sumter District, in this State, and did
also, about the same time, feloniously steal,
take, and carry away three other Negro
slaves, the property of WILLIS SPANN, of
the District and State aforesaid and hath
since fled froma justice
NOW KNOW YE, That to the intent
the said Mina McCoy may he brought to
legal trial and condign punishment for the
crimes aforesaid, 1 do hereby oil'era reward
of three hundred dollars for the apprehen
sion and delivery of the said Mina McCoy,
io any jail within this State. The said
Mimaa McCoy is about five fret ten inches
high, rather slender made, weighs about
140 pounds, natural complexion fair, but
somewhat weather beaten, dark hair, thin
visage, full white teeth in front, and shows
thiem very plain when laughing or in con
versation, left eye out, which is very visible
though the hall has not entirely sunk shoul
ders ronnd, with arms thrown a little forward
and voice strikingl3 nasal.

the year of our Lord one thousand eight

ceived by this Department that a
certain free mani of color, named Toa
Archer, was. on or ahout the 12th of March
last, feloniously taken and carried away
from the house of Widow hill, near the
fish I )am Ford, in the District of Chester,
by two white men. ;who called themselves
Alexander Archer and Harris.
Naw on uw v:, That to the intent the said
Archer and IHarris may lie brought to legal
trial and codign punishnent, for the ab
ductioi and oflence atiresaid, I do hereby
offer a reward of three hundred dollars for
the apprehension and delivery of the said
Archer andI I arris, or one hundred and fifty
dollars for the delivery ofeither ofthen,into
any jail im thi State.
It is also stated tliat two while men of the
above naines were at Kingston, in Autauga
county. Alabama, about the 8th or nth of
April last, with the said boy Tom Archer,
and here oiehred hit for sale as a slave; hlut
on the said boy declaring lie was a freeman,
no sale could he eflected; and that they
carried him from there, and said they were
going to Greensborough.
