We were glad to notice that the
board was more rigid in its examination
than heretofore, botli as to moral
asdrell as educational qualification

of Board Landing on the Waccamaw,
the funeral of old auut Elsey
Todd (colored) was -to have been
preached, but by some misshap the
preacher was not there. This ' old
woman died some months ago, and
front the best, and what is believed to
be reliable authority. she was a 1iU.Ia

over one hundred and eleven years
** old when she died.
Augustus Thompson, her son in-law,
tells us that he has xrften heard her
say that she was 13 or 15 years old
before the close of the ''revolutionary

relating to transactions that occured
in her early days, which are verified
by history, there is no doubt but *she
was full as old as is claimed lor ber
at the time uf her death. i
